Brooks Pierce Sponsors Privilege and Ethics for Inside Counsel CLE for RTAC-ACC

11.13.2024

Brooks Pierce will sponsor the “Privilege and Ethics for Inside Counsel” CLE for the Research Triangle Area Chapter (RTAC) of the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) on December 12.

Gary Parsons, a partner at Brooks Pierce, will speak at the event, discussing the legal and ethical boundaries of attorney-client privilege, inadvertent waiver of privilege, multi-jurisdictional practice, litigating privilege issues, joint defense or common interest privilege, work product immunity, and in-house counsel’s ethical duties to protect confidential information and when they should or may disclose.

Parsons is a litigator's litigator: he tries cases. He has participated in more than 80 trials, over 125 appeals, and has represented clients in courtrooms in at least 70 of North Carolina's 100 counties.

The ACC is a global legal association that promotes the common professional and business interests of in-house counsel who work for corporations, associations and other organizations through information, education, networking, and advocacy. ACC has more than 45,000 members in 85 countries employed by over 10,000 organizations.

The RTAC-ACC includes all of eastern North Carolina. The chapter provides a wide range of educational programs on topics relevant to in-house law practice such as crisis management, managing outside counsel, contracts 101, and intellectual property competitive intelligence.
