Four Brooks Pierce Partners Named to Benchmark Litigation’s “40 & Under Hot List”
The 2021 edition of Benchmark Litigation’s “40 & Under Hot List” recognized Brooks Pierce partners Clint Morse, Justin Outling, Will Quick and Craig Schauer as leaders in the legal profession. The award recognizes the achievements of the nation’s most accomplished legal partners aged forty or younger. Benchmark Litigation employs a thorough process of peer review and matter examination to select the annual list. This is the second year in a row the four attorneys have been named to the list.
Morse is an experienced litigator who thrives in the courtroom. He represents a wide range of clients on issues related to intellectual property, bankruptcy and general corporate disputes. Morse was recognized as one of the Triad Business Journal’s “40 Leaders Under 40” for 2021. He was also selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America© for Litigation – Bankruptcy (2020-2021). Morse has been listed on Benchmark Litigation's “40 & Under Hot List” for the past four years.
Outling focuses his practice on business litigation and white-collar criminal defense. He helps businesses and professionals in a variety of industries and has successfully brought and defended lawsuits in a wide range of matters. He also serves as the firm’s director of diversity & inclusion. Outling received the North Carolina Bar Association’s Citizen Lawyer Award for 2019 and was selected by his peers for inclusion in Business North Carolina's "Legal Elite” for Litigation in 2021. He also serves on the Greensboro City Council, representing District 3.
Quick has a diverse litigation and regulatory practice, representing businesses and local governments in trial and appellate matters and before state agencies in North Carolina and South Carolina. He also advises clients on the design and implementation of data privacy policies and assists with breach response when necessary. Quick is a Board Certified Specialist in Privacy and Information Security Law from the North Carolina Board of Legal Specialization. In 2019, he was recognized as one of the American Bar Association’s “On the Rise – Top 40 Young Lawyers,” and he has been recognized as a “Rising Star” by North Carolina Lawyers Weekly in 2019 and 2020. Quick was selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America© for Commercial Litigation in 2021. He also serves as chair of the North Carolina Bar Association Young Lawyers Division.
Schauer is a litigator who counsels and advocates for clients through a wide variety of disputes and legal problems, ranging from business disagreements to constitutional lawsuits. He regularly advocates for clients in state courts, federal courts, appellate courts, arbitration proceedings and regulatory hearings. Schauer was selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America© for Commercial Litigation in 2021 and in Business North Carolina's “Legal Elite” in the Young Guns category in 2019.
