Brooks Pierce Attorney Arty Bolick Becomes Certified Mediator

03.23.2017

Brooks Pierce partner Arty Bolick has become a Certified Mediator through the North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission. As a Certified Mediator, Bolick can conduct settlement conferences in North Carolina courts, helping parties reach a resolution before going to trial.

Bolick has more than two decades of experience in business litigation and negotiations. For the past 10 years, he has focused much of his practice on construction law representing owners, contractors and subcontractors during all phases of construction, including negotiating contracts as well as post completion mediation, arbitration and litigation.

To gain mediator certification, a lawyer must meet a strict set of criteria including having at least five years of experience as a practicing attorney and completing trial court mediation training.

“Having participated as an advocate in hundreds of mediations, I have seen firsthand the benefit this process can bring,” Bolick said. “I am excited to be able to offer this service to help others resolve their disputes outside of a courtroom.”
