Brooks Pierce partner George House was recently selected as a “2018 Triad Power Player” by the Triad Business Journal. The list recognizes influential business and community leaders for their outstanding accomplishments. The 2018 winners were honored at a reception on Nov. 1.
The Triad Power Players list is designed to highlight deserving individuals who have been instrumental in leading and executing groundbreaking initiatives and economic development projects in the Triad region. The program is designed to generate awareness of how these efforts have positively shaped the Triad’s economic landscape. House was named to the list for his role in the development of a Westin hotel in downtown Greensboro.
House has experience in virtually every area of environmental law and focuses his practice on matters related to mining law, hazardous waste and substances, water law and air compliance. He has extensive litigation experience before administrative hearing offices, judges, juries and appellate courts.
House is widely recognized by his peers and clients for his work. In addition to being recognized by multiple legal publications for his work in environmental law and litigation, in 2013 he received the Ed Kitchen Award from Downtown Greensboro Inc. for community service and leadership in the Triad. Currently, House is on the board of directors for the Greensboro Science Center and the Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute.
