Brooks Pierce partner Ed West presented at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC) Law School’s J. Nelson Young Tax Institute on April 26.
West’s presentation, entitled “Criminal Tax Investigations and Prosecutions,” addressed areas of emphasis for IRS criminal investigations, the IRS Criminal Investigation Division’s investigatory tactics as well as common misunderstandings by civil practitioners and CPAs about criminal tax prosecutions.
The J. Nelson Young Tax Institute is an annual professional program covering current state and federal tax problems and issues designed for practitioners who frequently handle tax matters.
