David Sar Elected Chairman of the NCBA Intellectual Property Section

Brooks Pierce partner David Sar has been elected Chairman of the North Carolina Bar Association's Intellectual Property Law Section for the 2011-2012 year. 

The Intellectual Property Law Section examines copyright, patent and trademark law issues. The section includes over 650 members and sponsors CLE programs and services; provides members with a substantive newsletter, IP Links; and helps mold the association's legislative agenda.

David represents clients in commercial disputes and matters pertaining to technology and intellectual property. He litigates and tries cases in state and federal courts, as well as before government agencies and handles business transactions involving trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, and technology. He has handled the prosecution or maintenance of over 2,000 trademark and copyright registrations, both within the United States and internationally. He has been recognized as a member of North Carolina's "Legal Elite" by Business North Carolina magazine, in North Carolina Super Lawyers for Intellectual Property Law, and as one of the Best Lawyers in America in Intellectual Property Law.
