Gary Parsons to Speak at North Carolina Bar Association CLE

Brooks Pierce partner Gary Parsons will present to members of the North Carolina Bar Association (NCBA) during the 2021 Antitrust & Complex Business Disputes Law Section Continuing Legal Education (CLE) program on Feb. 4. This program will explore the issues that lawyers face in complex business disputes, including the ethical concerns that commonly arise.

Parsons’s presentation, “Privilege, Work Product and Related Ethical Issues: What It Is, How to Protect It and How To Protect Yourself,” will discuss the correct way to identify and protect attorney-client privilege, the work-product doctrine and various other privileges and ethical issues that may arise in cases.

Parson focuses his practice on litigation, having participated in more than 75 trials and 125 appeals, and representing clients in at least 70 of North Carolina’s 100 counties. He represents businesses ranging in size from the Fortune 100 to regional and local companies, as well as local governments. He has argued before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, the North Carolina Supreme Court and the North Carolina Court of Appeals. He also appears regularly before all three U.S. District Courts in North Carolina and the North Carolina Business Court.
