Henry Frye Presents at GGI Conference in Toronto

11.29.2011

Henry Frye, former Chief Justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court and Of Counsel at Brooks Pierce law firm, recently gave a presentation to a gathering of over 200 accountants and lawyers from around the world at the Geneva Group International (“GGI”) North American Conference in Toronto, Canada.

Frye’s presentation, “The future is upon us! Can we cope?,” included a discussion of social networking, cloud computing, and Internet purchasing. He challenged professional services providers to understand that “the future has become the present” and to consider the ramifications of that for professional services.

GGI is a global network of independent accounting, consulting and law firms with over 300 member firms in 90 countries around the world. It is headquartered in Switzerland, and consistently ranks among the top ten such associations in the world. Justice Frye challenged his audience to recur to fundamental moral and ethical principles even as professional services providers worldwide seek to cope with revolutionary changes in technology, communications and commerce -- and the prospect of a “flat,” networked and integrated global economy.
