Williams Admitted to International Academy of Trial Lawyers

04.30.2008

Brooks Pierce partner Jim Williams has been selected for membership in the International Academy of Trial Lawyers.

The Academy has rigorous admission standards, and the selection process for each attorney takes over a year to complete. Williams’ nomination was reviewed by the members of North Carolina’s Supreme Court and Court of Appeals, by the federal district court judges of the Middle District of North Carolina, and by all 500 current members of the Academy.

Membership in the Academy is limited at any one time to 500 attorneys from the United States and 100 attorneys from over 30 countries around the world. Many more lawyers are nominated than selected for membership; and members of the Academy are intended to represent only the most exceptional trial lawyers.

The Academy was founded in 1954 and exists to aid attorneys in working together to better our legal system here in the United States and abroad.

Williams’ practice is concentrated in business litigation and corporate matters for businesses and professional organizations. He was twice recognized by his peers as the leading business litigator in North Carolina by Business North Carolina magazine and thereafter installed as a member of its "Legal Elite Hall of Fame." He has consistently been listed in The Best Lawyers in America (Woodward/White). North Carolina Super Lawyers listed him among the top ten lawyers in North Carolina, and he has been recognized as one of the leading attorneys in Commercial Litigation by Chambers USA
