Justin Outling Named to Board of Directors for Gateway Research Park

Justin Outling, partner and director of diversity & inclusion at Brooks Pierce, has been appointed to the Gateway Research Park Board of Directors. The organization provides world-class laboratories and office space to businesses, universities and the local Greensboro community. Gateway’s premier campus also provides the support needed to help turn cutting-edge intellectual property into thriving businesses in the areas of life and physical science, engineering and other applied sciences.

“Research is core to North Carolina’s and the city of Greensboro’s economies,” said Outling. “I value the opportunity to contribute a diverse professional perspective to ideas and innovation improving the lives and livelihood of North Carolinians everywhere.”

A former clerk for a federal judge and partner at a large Wall Street law firm, Outling focuses his practice on business litigation and white-collar criminal defense. He helps businesses and professionals in a variety of industries and has successfully brought and defended lawsuits in a myriad of matters including breach of contract, unfair competition and trade practices, fraud, shareholder disputes and commercial financing. He also serves as the firm’s director of diversity & inclusion. Outling received his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and his juris doctor from Duke University School of Law.
