Brooks Pierce Government Relations Advisor Katy Kingsbury attended the NC Tech Association Summit for Women in Tech in New Bern on September 25-26. This was Kingsbury’s third time attending the conference. NC Tech is the statewide trade association for information technology with over 600 members and Brooks Pierce has served as its State Government Counsel since 2005.
The Summit’s program included sessions on the Future Tech Workforce (including the impact of automation and AI), Women’s Health and Work/Life Balance, and How Women Tech Leaders Can Support Each Other. Speakers were from a variety of technology companies and businesses. Over 350 women from about 100 different organizations attended the event.
Kingsbury has been a member of Brooks Pierce since 2016. She advocates for clients before the executive and legislative branches of North Carolina state government. As a former campaign manager and legislative assistant, she is experienced in navigating the landscape of the North Carolina General Assembly and uses that experience to assist the firm's Government Affairs team in implementing legislative strategies. Her work includes representing clients in the fields of economic development, education, energy, land conservation, parks, technology, and transportation.
