Brooks Pierce partner Shana Fulton has been chosen as a Diverse Leader by Business North Carolina. The annual feature celebrates leaders making important impacts by supporting their communities through various initiatives across North Carolina.
In her profile, Fulton says she gained her love of justice and public service from the influence of her parents, which ultimately led to her pursuing a career in law. “I’m interested in justice, period,” she says. “There has to be just actions happening on both sides for the system to work properly. Everybody has to do their job right in a just manner that is fair to everybody. That philosophy hasn’t changed for me.”
Fulton represents businesses and individuals in criminal and civil litigation, under government investigation or in conducting internal investigations. As a defense attorney and former Assistant U.S. Attorney, she has experience litigating and investigating high-profile and complex matters at all levels of federal and state trial courts. She loves using her deep experience as a defense attorney and federal prosecutor on complex matters that feature a mix of criminal, civil and regulatory issues.
The feature was included in the February issue of Business North Carolina and available online here.
