Brooks Pierce partner Shana Fulton will speak on April 30 at the North Carolina Bar Association’s (NCBA) 2025 Corporate Counsel Section program, “It's About the People: Exploring Relationships at the Core of Our Practice.” The program will be available via live webcast.
Fulton will present “Navigating Privilege and Ethics Issues for In-House Counsel in Crisis Situations” with Tom Shanahan from UNC Health. They will discuss the role and interplay of in-house legal teams, outside counsel, and compliance officers when investigating and handling internal and external threats and pressure to a business, including internal corporate malfeasance government investigations, and accusations of regulatory noncompliance.
Fulton represents businesses and individuals in criminal and civil litigation, under government investigation or in conducting internal investigations. As a defense attorney and former Assistant U.S. Attorney, she has experience litigating and investigating high-profile and complex matters at all levels of federal and state trial courts. She loves using her deep experience as a defense attorney and federal prosecutor on complex matters that feature a mix of criminal, civil, and regulatory issues across a wide variety of industries.
