Overview
Mike Jones is a high-stakes problem solver who focuses his practice on complex business litigation, election law, and state and local government law. A Winston-Salem native, Mike practiced law in Atlanta and Washington, D.C. for several years where he gained experience representing and advising businesses of all sizes, governments, campaigns, and voters in connection with a variety of legal matters. At Brooks Pierce, Mike draws on this broad experience to identify creative solutions that help each of his clients successfully resolve their biggest challenges.
Mike’s practice is an extension of his commitment to public service. Most recently, Mike served as a Deputy National Director of Voter Protection and Access on the Harris for President campaign. He is a former aide to two members of Congress, including former United States Senator Kay Hagan of North Carolina. As a college student, Mike was elected to serve on the New Haven, Connecticut Board of Aldermen.

My Practices
Mike began his legal career as a business litigator and has experience representing businesses of all sizes as plaintiffs and defendants at the trial court level and on appeal. He takes pride in working with his clients to identify creative, reasonable, and cost-effective solutions to their biggest challenges.
Mike draws on his experience as a former candidate, campaign manager, and presidential campaign staffer to advocate for candidates, voters, and voting rights organizations navigating complex investigations and disputes.
As a former local elected official, Mike has an intimate understanding of the opportunities and challenges facing local governments. He has used that experience to counsel local governments and defend them against constitutional and statutory actions in state and federal court.

Outside of work, I spend most of my time hanging out with my rescue dog named Champ, who was born at the beginning of the Tar Heels’ most recent championship season in men’s basketball.
