Brooks Pierce partner Bill Cary will present at the Carolinas Climate Resilience Conference on May 12 at 10:30 a.m.
The symposium, “Advancing Nature-based Stormwater Strategies in North Carolina,” will provide attendees with information on the nature-based stormwater strategies in North Carolina. The strategies were developed by four work groups, facilitated by Cary and convened by The Pew Charitable Trusts and the North Carolina Coastal Federation in support of the N.C. Executive Order 80 initiative to assess the state’s climate risks and develop a resilience plan.
Cary’s practice focuses on a variety of environmental areas, particularly involving wetlands and the Clean Water Act, the National Environmental Policy Act/State Environmental Policy Act review process, and administrative and judicial challenges to agency decisions representing both public and private entities. During an extended leave from the firm, Cary served as the general counsel of the North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).
