Brooks Pierce’s senior economic development & corporate strategist Tony Copeland recently assisted Boom Supersonic with its decision to locate a manufacturing and assembly facility at the Piedmont Triad International Airport in Guilford County. The facility is expected to create more than 1,750 jobs and bring an investment of more than $500 million through 2030. Brooks Pierce advised the company on legal and economic incentive issues.

Boom’s commercial airliner, Overture, is designed and committed to industry-leading speed, safety and sustainability standards. Overture will be net-zero carbon, capable of flying on 100% sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) at twice the speed of today’s fastest passenger jets. Overture has garnered significant commercial interest, including orders and options from United Airlines and Japan Airlines, as well as contracts with the U.S. Air Force for government applications.

Copeland is a highly accomplished attorney, focusing on corporate strategy and business incentive solutions with a 30-year record of achievement on every side of the corporate relocation and site selection process. As a former North Carolina Secretary of Commerce, Copeland helped bring more than 81,000 jobs and over $18.4 billion of investment to the state.
