Brooks Pierce Sponsors, Participates in Private Sector Panel at UNC Law

Brooks Pierce attorneys Mousa Alshanteer and Amanda Hawkins will participate in the Asian American Law Students Association’s (AALSA) upcoming Private Sector Panel on Oct. 24 at the University of North Carolina School of Law. Brooks Pierce is also sponsoring the event.

The panel is for students to learn more about the litigation, transactional, and other areas of practice, career pathways, and life of a private sector attorney at a law firm, and will be followed by a Q&A session.

AALSA is a social, academic and career-oriented network for the law school’s students and alumni. AALSA strives to serve its members by hosting social and academic events, pro bono or volunteer programs, and mentorship opportunities.

Mousa Alshanteer has represented clients of all types and sizes in general business matters, such as entity formation and organization, including dissolution and reorganization, corporate governance, and contract drafting and negotiation. He has planned, negotiated, and documented a variety of transactions across several industries, such as mergers and acquisitions (including both purchases and sales) and private equity financing. In his practice, Alshanteer has advised various licensees and practitioners on a wide variety of general business matters, transactional matters, and administrative and regulatory compliance.

Amanda Hawkins represents businesses and individuals at all levels of state and federal courts, as well as in regulatory proceedings. Hawkins has significant experience in complex, high-stakes litigation in both state and federal court.
