Collins Saint Named ABA YLD Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion for Personnel and Policy
Brooks Pierce attorney Collins Saint has been named the director of diversity, equity and inclusion for personnel and policy for the American Bar Association’s (ABA) Young Lawyers Division (YLD).
In this role, Saint will continue the national work of furthering the ABA YLD’s mission to promote diversity within the profession and ensure equal opportunity and inclusion for all lawyers regardless of race, color, ethnicity, national origin, gender, disability, sexual orientation and gender identity in its membership, leadership, programming and other activities.
Saint has a particular focus on broadening awareness of diversity issues within organizations. He counsels companies, educational institutions and other organizations on compliance with state and federal civil rights regulations, including Title VII and Title IX, the IDEA, the ADA and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. Saint also represents individuals in obtaining favorable results related to their markers of diversity. He has experience handling disputes on behalf of trans* persons involving discrimination and obtaining legal name and gender marker changes. Saint is actively involved in the American Bar Association, serving as chair of the Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Committee for the Young Lawyers Division. He is also a member of the Credentials Board, Leadership Academy Task Force and National Conferences Team for the ABA’s Young Lawyers Division.
