Associate

Overview

Cameron Ervin represents individual and corporate clients subject to government investigations and facing actual and potential criminal and civil exposure with the U.S. Department of Justice, local U.S. Attorney’s offices, the Internal Revenue Service, and federal and state regulatory bodies. She has conducted internal investigations for corporate clients to respond to inquiries from the government and advises clients on proactive and defensive strategies to avoid or mitigate criminal exposure.

My Practices

  • Cameron has experience representing various clients, including individuals, health care providers, corporations and municipalities facing white-collar prosecutions, government investigations, and regulatory scrutiny.

Prior to law school, she served as a Senior Paralegal Specialist for the U.S. Department of Justice’s Criminal Division’s Fraud Section and primarily supported the Health Care Fraud Unit’s Strike Force in Miami, Florida. In this role, Cameron supported three federal trials in the Southern District of Florida and was involved at all stages of cases, from the beginning stages of an investigation through appeals.

Cameron’s experience allows her to take a unique approach to solving clients’ problems by identifying relevant risk factors at all phases of the representation and use them to devise  strategies to employ throughout the investigation or litigation.

  • Cameron represents health care industry clients, to include physicians and physician-owned practices, in investigations and disputes regarding licensure, billing, and regulatory compliance. Cameron has appeared in state court and in front of regulatory bodies on behalf of clients.

About Me

In elementary school, I was a member of my school’s “Problem Solvers Club” in which we had to consider various scenarios and identify the logical solutions, along with any potential pitfalls. My parents adopted the phrase “be a problem solver” at home and frequently rattled off the phrase when my sister or I encountered a dilemma that we struggled to navigate. I have embraced being a “problem solver” throughout my professional career as I strive to identify solutions and strategies to mitigate and address complex problems that clients encounter.

In my free time, I enjoy exploring my native North Carolina, frequenting antique stores, and attempting to convince my lazy dog to walk one more block.
