Overview

Graham Dean advises clients on federal and state privacy compliance matters across various industries. Prior to joining Brooks Pierce, Graham worked as a legal data protection counsel at a large multinational investment bank and as a privacy and cyber associate at an Am Law 50 law firm. These experiences have equipped Graham with the knowledge and practical experience needed to assist clients with complex data privacy and security issues. Graham also holds an IAPP CIPP/US certification.

My Practices

  • Graham has experience handling data privacy matters in relation to the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA), Colorado Privacy Act (CPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), and a variety of other privacy and data security laws in the United States. He regularly assists with privacy compliance tasks such as updating/drafting privacy policies, managing vendor relationships, responding to Data Subject Access Requests (DSAR) and establishing internal privacy-related policies and procedures.

  • During law school, Graham worked as a Legal Department intern at one the world’s largest life reinsurance companies. In this role, Graham assisted with a variety of research projects, with a focus on state-level insurance regulatory issues. Graham also handled reinsurance-related matters during his tenure on the bank regulatory team at a large multinational investment bank.
