For much of her career, Nancy’s practice has centered on regulatory programs addressing the assessment and remediation of contaminated sites across North Carolina, advising on enforcement actions, compliance strategies, and risk-based remediation under state environmental laws. Her deep understanding of environmental assessment and remediation programs, combined with her ability to collaborate effectively with scientists and technical teams, ensures that contamination issues are addressed in ways that meet regulatory requirements while minimizing risks for all stakeholders. Nancy has handled establishing operational procedures and represented state agencies in environmental litigation and appeals.

My Practices

  • Nancy has represented state agencies in appeals concerning environmental regulations, including cases related to environmental compliance and enforcement decisions. She has handled litigation aimed at collecting civil penalties for violations of environmental laws, as well as leading enforcement efforts of environmental violators and negotiating settlement agreements to address ongoing risks.
