01.28.2025

Brooks Pierce is pleased to announce that Nancy Dunn Hardison, of counsel, and Susan Scaggs Stutts, associate, have joined the firm’s environmental law team.

For much of her career, Hardison’s practice has centered on regulatory programs addressing the assessment and remediation of contaminated sites across North Carolina, advising on enforcement actions, compliance strategies, and risk-based remediation under state environmental laws. Her deep understanding of environmental assessment and remediation programs, combined with her ability to collaborate effectively with scientists and technical teams, ensures that contamination issues are addressed in ways that meet regulatory requirements while minimizing risks for all stakeholders. With her extensive background in regulatory oversight, Hardison is well-positioned to help clients manage environmental risks, navigate remediation obligations, and find practical solutions to the challenges posed by contaminated properties.

Stutts is an environmental attorney who represents public and private clients in a variety of environmental matters before state and federal regulatory agencies.
