Collins Saint Participates in Webinar on North Carolina Court of Appeals 50B Statute Ruling

Brooks Pierce attorney Collins Saint participated as a panelist in a webinar on March 19 sponsored by the Woodruff Family Law Group.

The panel discussed the North Carolina Court of Appeals ruling on the 50B statute and its ramifications. Saint was a part of the team that represented several nonprofits that advocate for the rights of LGBTQ individuals in this landmark North Carolina civil rights case, which now allows same-sex couples to receive domestic violence protective orders in cases where the couple is unmarried and does not live together.

Saint has a particular focus on broadening awareness of diversity issues within organizations. He counsels companies, educational institutions and other organizations on compliance with state and federal civil rights regulations, including Title VII and Title IX, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. Saint also defends businesses in civil rights litigation when necessary.
