Gary Parsons Publishes Article in North Carolina Lawyers Weekly

Brooks Pierce partner Gary Parsons recently published an article in North Carolina Lawyers Weekly.

The article, “It’s Not Privileged Isn’t Enough,” discusses attorneys’ ethical obligations regarding client confidentiality and a recent Proposed Ethics Opinion.

“Most lawyers are well aware of and sensitive to protecting attorney-client privilege. We need to remember, however, the Rules of Professional Conduct are broader than the privilege and impose confidentiality obligations on all that we learn during a client engagement,” wrote Parsons.

Parsons has represented attorneys against malpractice claims and bar grievances since 1985. He handles trials and appeals in state and federal courts throughout North Carolina and adjoining states.
