Brooks Pierce partner and director of diversity and inclusion Justin Outling was quoted in a Jan. 28 Triad Business Journal article on advancing diversity, equity and inclusion in 2022.
The article shares 11 strategies from Triad leaders on ways organizations can further diversity, equity and inclusion. Outling suggests that employee evaluations have “specific questions, so it focuses on performance rather than a reaction or impression. Instead of asking if someone is a good writer, for example, talk about this person’s writing assignments, what the individual did well and what can be improved.”
Outling focuses his practice on business litigation and white-collar criminal defense. Continuing his work with the firm’s established Diversity & Inclusion Committee, Outling is responsible for originating, leading and supervising all of Brooks Pierce’s diversity and inclusion efforts.
